What's is a Road Dog Food Blog?

After over twenty years in the corporate theater production business, travelling all over the country, eating convention center and hotel catering, I decided it was time to start rating the food provided to the road-weary working traveller, eating in the dim lighting amongst steel and vinyl clad road cases in whatever space remains after the installation of set, lighting, audio and video is complete.
Most often the food does the job of filling the belly and propelling us forward through long days off hard work, or hours of waiting on standby to quickly and expertly do a simple task, and wait some more.
There are times, however, when the food is exceptional. Exceptionally good, or exceptionally bad.
If I can offer a completely biased opinion of the quality, quantity, variety and uniqueness of the food we are served in the performance of our duty, perhaps it can serve as a warning or create an expectation of the food to come on your next gig. Maybe you will know enough to pack a few granola bars or plan a trip to a nearby grocery store to stock up on alternative items, or even to angle for 1-hour walkaways instead of catering on the clock.
Or maybe the descriptions and ratings I provide will just make you laugh. Either way, I just need to do this blog. So here it goes.
